Williams, who won the event just three years prior at the same facility, drove his Advanced Product Design 632 powered machine to a final round victory over Ricky Adkins in one of the quickest bracket finals in recent memory (Williams was dialed 4.55 to Adkins 4.49). Advanced Product Design is proud to have Williams and team owner Mike Bloomfield as customers: the winning machine not only featured an APD-built engine, but also a pair of APD gasoline carburetors atop the tunnel ram manifold.
Williams was not the only APD equipped winner of the Million Dollar weekend. In Fridays $30,000-to-win event, Adam Davis drove his 76 Nova to the win over Scotty Richardson. Davis, a Footbrake standout from Alabama, picked up the biggest win of his career in the Super Pro class. Davis uses a 750 cfm APD alcohol carburetor. Richardson, a longtime APD customer, was also using an APD 750 alcohol carburetor and an APD prepared engine in his S-10 (also normally a Footbrake car).
Following the million dollar race another APD customer, Barry Brown, picked up the first win of his career in the final $30,000-to-win event on Sunday. Browns M&M Race Cars machine also features an APD powerplant, carburetor, and fuel system!
