Didier, a successful bracket and Top Sportsman competitor, scored his first NHRA National Event victory in his Mullis Chassis by Forrester Super Comp Dragster at the NHRA Mid-South Nationals in Memphis, TN. After rolling through a Whos Who list of 8.90 competitors, Didier knocked off former national event winner Phillip Chester in the final round. Didiers machine is topped with an APD 1150 cfm carburetor.
Meanwhile, halfway across the country, young Ohio racer Phil Smida accomplished an equally remarkable and rare feat: earning winner and runner-up honors in the same event. Smida drove his Worthy Race Cars built dragster to the win and runner-up finish at the DragRaceResults.com Bracket Series event at Quaker City Dragway in Salem, OH. For his feat, Smida earned winner ($5,000) and runner-up ($1,000) money, as well as a whopping $1,050 in series contingency (including $150 from APD for his 1150 carburetor).
