Article Title: Advanced Product Design Carburetors Offers Off-sea Article Date: 11/18/2005 Article: John Kyles Advanced Product Design (APD) Carburetors is offering a limited time offer for racers looking upgrade their carburetion systems over the off-season. APD is offering three basic rebuilds for gas and alcohol drag racing carburetors: A basic rebuild service (for carburetors previously modified by APD), the APD Sportsman Special conversion (for 4150 carburetors with stock base plates and metering blocks), and the APD Pro Series Conversion (for 4150 and 4500 series carburetors: comes complete with custom APD billet metering blocks & base plates on 4150 series).
Our rebuilds and conversions offer a cost effective option to purchasing a completely new carburetor, said owner/operator John Kyle. If a racer is not happy with their current combination, needs to recalibrate their carburetor to match changes in their engine or car, or simply needs the carburetor freshened up for another season of abuse, the APD rebuild and conversion program is the way to go.
The APD Basic Rebuild Service for current APD customers is a basic carburetor freshen-up, which the company recommends each season. Cost is $235.
The APD Sportsman Special includes complete disassembly and recalibration of your current carburetor for your combination. The professionals at APD will install modified boosters, new high flow jets, and adjustable air bleeds, essentially making your current carburetor comparable to a new APD 4150 series unit. The Sportsman Special conversion is $400.
For competitors with 4500 series carburetors, or those looking for the ultimate in 4150 series carbs, APD is also offering their Pro Series Rebuild. The Pro Series rebuild includes all the features and benefits of the Sportsman Special, plus custom APD metering blocks, and (on 4150 series carburetors) a custom CNC throttle body. Cost for the APD Pro Series conversion is $585.
APD Rebuild Services do not include repairs for: broken or damaged base plate assembly (4150), damaged or saturated float bowls, bent or broken linkage, or damaged float bowls. There will be additional charges for these repairs.
Championship competitors including Sherman Adcock, Jr., Scotty Richardson, Rick Baehr, Luke Bogacki, Lindsey Wood, Kirby McLennan, Jason Lynch, and more depend on APD carburetors for consistent performance--shouldnt you?
